Mike Brown never imagined that a simple moment during a music break in 1982 would place him inside one of the most iconic film franchises ever created.

While performing at the Ship Ashore Resort in Smith River, California, Mike overheard two men discussing the need to hire another person for a film production. Looking for extra work alongside his music career, he volunteered immediately — without knowing what the job actually involved.

Soon afterward, Mike was brought onto a mysterious production operating under the secret title Blue Harvest. After signing confidentiality agreements and arriving on location in Northern California, he quickly realized he had become part of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.

Initially cast as an Imperial officer, Mike later suited up as a Stormtrooper during the filming of scenes connected to the legendary Battle of Endor.

For nearly eight weeks, Mike participated in filming alongside stunt crews, special effects teams, and members of the production responsible for bringing the Star Wars galaxy to life.

Decades later, fans across the world continue celebrating the original trilogy and the people behind it. Through convention appearances, documentaries, and fan events, Mike now shares his firsthand experiences and memories with a new generation of Star Wars fans.

Known affectionately as “The Unknown Stormtrooper,” Mike remains grateful for the incredible community that continues to keep the spirit of Star Wars alive.
